Riverside National Cemetery | Military Honor
My dear friend Bonnie’s father passed away a few weeks ago. He was honored last week at Riverside National Cemetrary with a gun salute and taps. The National Guard presented a flag to Bon’s mom. It was an incredibly touching and moving ceremony. I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves.
Mr. Adkins was a POW during the Korean war - I believe for about 2 1/2 years. His experience was pretty unbelievable.
They marched out to the grass in perfect formation and put down their guns and the instrument.
Love you bonnie. Your dad will be missed. Thankful he is with Jesus Christ. Thanks for asking me to do this. I will never forget it.

Sweet, touching pictures Tracy. Looks like Bonnie's dad was honored so beautifully. Her mom is so precious! My dad is burried at that cemetery...it's such a pretty place. They have a really neat 4th of July concert (Riverside Philharmonic) every year with fireworks. They do such a great job honoring veterans. Two yrs ago they had a couple WWI (I think) vets, they were really old sweet men, that they honored...they had planes fly over. We went with my mom and we thought it was going to be boring...seriously, we did NOT want it to end...we LOVED it.
Love them all- such a great honor! Thank you Mr. Adkins for serving our country!
Tracy, my dad is buried here too. When he was buried in 1982, the trees were all newly planted and there wer very few buried there. Thanks for honoring the somber beuaty of a military funerla. I will never forget my father's.
Great bllog you have
