Calamigos Ranch Wedding | Kylie and Corey | Temecula Valley Wedding Photographer

What an absolutely AMAZING wedding!!! Such an outstanding team of vendors who worked in such perfect harmony to pull of one of the most beautiful weddings ever and a very very successful 18th wedding to end 2013!!!

I have known Kylie her whole life and it was such a blast to be a part of her special day.  I love that as the photographer, I get to be around the whole day and be part of the family.   This beautiful day, from the venue, to the flowers, to the photo booth...was just absolutely amazing. I was blown away throughout the day by the beautiful details and by every person involved working so hard to make this such a special day for Kylie and Corey.

There were white pumpkins hanging down the aisles with flowers and tied with velvet ribbon... and they also became the centerpieces at the reception.  I was blown away by the flowers!  The vintage decor was gorgeous.   Here are more detail photos - DETAILS.  You can view more photos on their pass account:

One of my favorite parts was during the ceremony her two younger brothers and sister (maid of honor) sang - they are absolutely amazing and they practiced the song during our first look and some of the portraits...I have never had live music during a wedding portrait session...I wish I had it recorded so I could include it here!  It was beautiful. They sang “When the Right One Comes Along” by Striking Matches.

It was a bright sunny day, filled with tons of friends and families.  The reception was as fun and perfect as it could be.  Fun for me as well as my whole family was there!  One of the bridesmaids who had been married a few months prior (and I shot the wedding) was newly pregnant that day, only a few weeks along and no one knew!    I am behind on blogging so I figured I better get this posted before Kylie makes an announcement like her friend Mollie...just kidding...and I really am kidding!  It was also fun to meet Amy Clarke and Heidi Garret in person and watch them work - they did an incredible job on the makeup and hair.  They were also fun and interesting.  Had a great time talking Heidi while she worked her magic on Kylie's hair...and I even learned how to make that amazing braid!!  Their contact info is linked after the post and prior to the album spreads.

Still hard to believe that we photographed 18 weddings in 2013!! What an absolute blast and I couldn't have imagined the year without one of them, and as I said before, what an INCREDIBLE wedding to finish with!! At the end of the post I have included the spreads of their wedding album so you can see how we design them.  Jessy does an incredible job designing the albums.  Also at the end I included Kylie's write up of the day and what she did to prepare and plan for it...enjoy!

Congrats to Kylie & Corey xoxo

I wanted my wedding to be full of wonder and whimsy and yet classically vintage at the same time. Drawing from the pastel palettes of Rifle Paper company art and capitalizing on my love for gold and glitter (pixie dust, if you will… I’m a big Peter Pan fan) I came up with a color scheme with the help of paint samples from Home Depot.

I’ve always wanted a wedding outdoors. I wanted it to be woodsy, charming, and magical all at the same time.

The ceremony site was a collaborative effort between my amazing florist Crystal Sanford (Recycled Love Story) and myself. Because the wedding was in November, I wanted to incorporate some fall décor into the mix, without using a completely fall color scheme. I came up with the idea to use white pumpkins, and Crystal made the concept a reality by making the small pumpkin flower arrangements hanging from shepherd’s hooks near the aisle and the larger pieces in front of the little white house. This was also a subtle hint at Cinderella (I’m a Disney princess at heart!)

Crystal came up with the idea to hang eucalyptus from the patio cover at the ceremony site, which made everything look that much more earthy and magical.

The color scheme of browns and pinks was a bit of a gamble. I went to David’s Bridal and simply put the colors together, hoping that they would look good with gold shoes. I was overwhelmed by how pretty it all turned out. I was trying to create a soft fall palette that avoided any orange or yellow, but didn’t look too much like spring.

Some of the special touches include:
-          My Flower Girl threw little paper cut-outs of pages from Jane Austen novels, since there were already flower petals decorating the aisle.
-          My bouquet had a locket on the front. The locket was an imitation of a necklace my husband got me on our first Valentine’s day together, and inside were photos of my grandma and recently-deceased grandfather as a way to honor him in the ceremony.
-          The girls all wore small gold necklaces with hearts on them that said Love. They also wore gold glittery shoes and earrings that I had picked out for them all.
-          My siblings sang “When the Right One Comes Along” by Striking Matches during the ceremony.
-          Our programs were imitations of a newspaper. These took a long time to create but my invitations person, Heidi Keller, rocked them.
-          Heidi also made sure all other signs at the wedding were consistent, so that everything coordinated with our invitations.
-          My friend Sierra Maly did all of the chalking for signs that were put around the venue.
-          My ringbearer carried a customized sign that said “Uncle Corey, Here Comes Your Girl!”
-          The Mother of the Bride, Mother of the Groom, and Grandmothers all had special customized handkerchiefs sitting on their seats when they were walked down the aisle with messages from the bride.
-          I walked down to a specially edited version Paperman by Christophe Beck, the song that my husband had playing when he proposed to me. We were pretty anal about getting the timing right for this, but on the wedding day it was magical.
-          My shoes were Kate Spade’s and I am still super in love with them

RECEPTION:
Our reception hall was so pretty that I hardly even needed to do anything. It was already so bright and pretty with the white walls and French windows. Station Identification took care of the entertainment, providing a photo booth and Deejaying the dancing with all sorts of lights. I’d never seen so many people on a dance floor before! They also played “The Newlywed Game” with my husband and I when we entered, which was very cute. We were able to write a biography for each and every bridesmaid and groomsman and select a song for each of them to be introduced too, which was a fun, personalized touch.

Station Identification made sure to have a song for each and every event that took place. For example, during the Cutting of the Cake we played “Sugar Sugar” by the Archies, and during the bouquet toss they played “Single Ladies” by Beyonce.

We did our grand exit using hand-rolled ribbon streamers. It was a blast to wade through the ribbons as we moved towards our limousine, and the clean up wasn’t bad! I ordered these off of Etsy!

My wedding coordinator, Tracy Farrell, was amazing and took care of a lot of the DIY jobs including the guest list displays (all furniture/the doors were from Found Rentals) and the tassels on the Geronimo balloons.  Crystal handled all things flowers, including the centerpieces, the pumpkins and the eucalyptus garlands. My cake was a combination of Porto’s Bakery and Crystal’s magical flower touches. I bought the cake topper off of Your Cloud Parade.
