Great Oak High School Senior | Temecula Valley Senior Graduate Photography
Amanda’s mom contacted me for this shoot and asked if she could shoot with a horse – of course, I was excited about this – fields, weeds, barns and sheds are my favorite locations…and they seem to come with horses! When I talked to her mom I could tell she was a little bummed because we were simply going to the trainers property (and I’m sure all she was thinking was about dirt) – but I was thinking there would be a sweet barn…so I asked about the “sweet” barn and she let me know there was no barn…so as I drove there I was wondering if it was just a corral with a fence and really preparing myself that there may not be places to shoot…Driving there we started seeing the landscape and I got excited. We even past a field and Jessy remarked that we should walk over to it if the place turned out awful - well as it turned out this is one of my favorite shoots ever – there was amazing light everywhere and super cool places!!!! …and that field was exactly where Amanda rides! It happened to be right behind the property!
Amanda herself is an amazing young girl…another one who had plans for her life that I believe she will follow with all her heart. She knows where she wants to attend school and what she wants to study…her plans include buying her own horse someday and she’ll do it! She was sweet and mature and a BLAST to be with. On a shallow note, I loved her boots! She was willing to do anything and so so so easy going. We had fun wandering all over this property…These are just a few of her photos which I hope will highlight her experience. When we got in the car, we all talked about how fun this shoot was! I love meeting new people –her mom was awesome too!
...and I know that everytime I shoot, I always think it's my favorite shoot ever....hahahaha
They are edited in a variety of ways. Amanda, I will email you and your mom your gallery – can’t wait for you to choose.
We started at the field but it was a bit sunny – I had to blow the sky out but I love how it turned out….
I combined two exposures on the right picture – they talk about this on Doug Boutwells blog…when you shoot in RAW you can expose it dark and light and combine them….
The shade by the hay was amazing light….
Amanda’s eyes were amazing – and yes – they were really this amazing…I basically only bumped up the contrast in this shot.
This next picture cracked me up – every time we tried it, Dan would take off! We laughed the whole time. We tried it in the field too but he wanted nothing to do with it!
She is learning guitar as well. Jessy thinks she might learn guitar so she can have it in her senior photos!
A cool old shed…who needs a barn?
An amazing old rusty water tower….
More cool places to shoot…see her boots? This has a vintage touch to it – I love it – jessy edited most of these…
How awesome are these red steps?
and the amazing field –jessy put a vintage summer touch on this one:
And this next shot is why I bring Jessy (well not the whole reason but…)
She was willing to lay in the weeds, but her mom fortunately had a blanket!

WOW! these are amazing!!!!!! This is one of my favorite shoots you have done. Everything looks so beautiful! :)
Love them! The one with the red steps and her blue jeans reminds me of the American Flag.
Wow. No wonder your dad is so very proud of you. Your pictures bring out not only your beauty and your character. You are intelligent and can do anything you put your mind to.
