Frequently asked questions
What do we wear????
This is my most asked question…
Be simple! Sometimes we all get stuck in thinking we have to go out and buy matching outfits like in the past – I would disagree with that nowadays! I hope to capture you! Come comfortable…jeans are great for families. Please don’t be afraid of color. I think I personally never had portraits done because it seemed so hard to find something to wear – don’t let that happen to you – wear what you are comfortable in and get some pictures!! You won’t regret it!
My advice – BE YOU – HAVE FUN – LAUGH ALOT!!!!
Some of my favorite pictures of my own family are taken when we are simply having fun - I would love to capture those times for you....
Please see the last question - keep in mind that because I like to capture you and your personality, I may have you sit on the ground....lean against fences etc... You may want to dress accordingly :O)
Locations?
If we can do it, it is super fun to shoot at your own home…or a place special to you! I just did a shoot at someone’s home and I loved it. We can also go to any park in the surrounding areas – there are beautiful parks all over. Shooting in Old Town Murrieta and Temecula is an option too – sometimes the shabbiest places produce the best photos! Even old garage doors!! Travel fees will apply for travel outside of a 25 mile radius from Canyon Lake. We can shoot at the beach but that will result in a higher session fee.
How will we see our photos?
All photos are now transferred via a PASS account. You will be able to download them right from there. There will be 2 folders in the account. One with special edits and one with the rest of your photos which will all be processed and beautiful - just not face brushed like the edits. We edit our favorite 20 to 30 - we do not make you look like dolls - we just brush them up to remove blemishes that you wouldn't normally have.
For family portraits, what kind of shots will you take?
If you choose to go with me, please know your portraits won’t all be posed with every one having their face looking at the camera necessarily. If I can get that shot for you, then fabulous! I can’t promise that perfect "family portrait" shot. I love the shots of families laughing and having fun – hugging shots etc. I will try a variety of poses with you and hope that we capture the essence of your family. If you have poses in mind, please let me know – I can work with you.
